actually i've got many things in my mind right now and if i were to post it here...u all gonna suffer reading it.
well, i juz checked out the ST interactive website and this article on 'training centre to boost retail industry' caught my attention. i've copied the last bit from the website:

"Minister of State for Education and Manpower Ng Eng Hen, the guest of honour, urged Singaporeans to upgrade their skills and be more flexible in accepting available jobs.

He said: 'Employers tell us that some Singaporeans shun good jobs because they require longer working hours, shifts and weekends.'

He said there were currently more than 500 vacancies in the retail sector alone. FairPrice, for example, has more than 100 vacancies for retail assistants, cashiers, butchers and storekeepers."

any idea why pple dun wanna work in these positions? coz we're worth more than wat these jobs pay us. that's the truth. some form of arrogance there. that such work is not suitable for us coz it's considered a 'blue-collar' job. and frankly spkg, why wld a grad, 'a' level homder or poly student work in these positions? talk abt fussiness...who taught us that? something wrong with the system. think abt it.
we've raised the pple in a certain manner and we oughta bear the consequences. dun blame the pple for being choosy.
