later i've to meet my primary sch mate and sorta 'counsel' her. she has no goal in life. she's not focussed and on monday night i told her that. said that i noticed that even we were in jc. even when she ahd a goal, she never pursued it. why? coz it's hard to pursue a goal. she wants an easy way out. i told her all that over the phone. she wanted the truth from me and i think i shd juz say wat i've observed.
ok, now ah goh's speech that i found so contradictory. why all the stayer and quitter labels? correct, we love to label people who deviate from the mainstream. anyway, when people are educated, their brains are developed. they're idiots to prolong their suffering in one palce. moreover, pple have families. they dun juz think for themselves. wat i'm asking of him, is to look at the circumstances these people faced and therefore result in their departure and consequently, today's label, QUITTER.
we're the products of this wonderful education system, that taught us to be exam smart, to find shortcuts in life, to accept wages that pars one's paper qualification. we are an ARROGANT society. i think the quitters may have benefitted from their stay elsewhere and learn how to be more humble, i hope.
in addition, singapore is a capitalist society and according to karl marx, u dun need any feelings, that being, patriotism and emotions. u need only one thing, profits! capitalism disregards emotions and passion. it is a hard cashed society.
i am of course, still grateful to the govt for really bringing s'pore to where she is today. i am proud of singapore in the economic asppect. but not other aspects. i dun dabble in politics, but i'm concerned witht he development of the human being in singapore.
the best part was when he said that we must not juz prosper in the economic sense but also, culturally...hahahahahaha...after waiting for ages, he ahs finally said that. but still, sports is not held in regard.
i am neither a stayer nor quitter, i'm the giver. i give my two cents worth of critique on the social development on singapore. i am and will continue to learn to be more humble. i can forgo car, forgo luxuries in life but never forgo humble-ness.
if i can, i will try to live in singapore, not for myself but for my mum. i think it's not fair that juz becoz i love another place, i decide all for myself that i'm gonna get PR there. i've never thought much abt my mum..her frens in singapore, the lifestyle here...i shdn't be so selfish to deprive ehr of all these and bring her to a foreign land.
i'll revise my career chart.
