still on the foreign talent issue...its not that we're afriad of competition, it's not that we fear losing out to these foreign players, all we're asking for, is for the authorities to not set the example of using cash to resolve all nitty gritty issues. with money and power,w e cna get wat u want -- that's the msg we're sending out to the younger generations. oh my god, it's not that easy in life. but we're hammered with the idea that we shd and can take shortcuts with money to help us resolve any obstacles. damn!
how can the Father set that kinda example to his Children????
another point to be raised on this issue is that we want to develop and nurture our own breed and brand of sports people. dun compare us to britain where carl lewis, the world's fastest man in 100m, once an american but now, a british. dun compare. he won his medals for AMERICA. the glory went to USA. moreover, britain already has its own fine breed of athletes. they've their own development program for the BRITISH. do we have that??????
in this field, u need time, facilities to have ur own lcass of sports people. it's not a matter of getting foreigners to play and play for us? that's the cruz of the issue which i beleive after reading the forum articles, the people are trying to get at.
SIGH....
i fear for my motherland, not in the economic sense but moral. values mould a person's character and we're losing that. no values, and that's the end of a person. i've observed that arrogance is emerging from the society. and the greatest irony is the fact that it stems from the younger generation, even in my batch as i've seen from my frens. (really sad) the upcoming gens are inteliigent BRATS, well educated, spoon fed by teachers and parents. when i was young my chinese tutor said that the more educated a person is, the more humble he/she shd be but the antithesis is happening in our society.
wat has gone wrong? we desperately need help to show that 'we care' and not a bunch of arrogant people.
