i played tennis this morning with my fren and in the car, he asked me how come i can run so fast. he said that his frens wld not even bother to run for some of the shots but i did. then i told him that swimming helped me to build up mys tamina but he thinks that there's sthg else. he even commented that my shuttle run shd be ard 9 over seconds.
well, i thought this on my way back. funny right? i also dunno why i have the kinda of energy to go for the shots. then ir ealizeed that it's not purely physical energy. i have the drive, the determination and the desire to go for every shot. to me, every shot is worth going for. and to this fren of mine, i juz wanna say that i love tennis and u know that. u love tennis too. however, i think i have always imagined myself as a professional tennis player. sometimes when i play, i picture a certain player. for example, my forehand shots, i'll think of andre agassi and start to prepare early for the shot.
sports is not a physical but also mental game. i forgot to tell u that despite the heat this morning, i was at one point able to "put that aside" and focus on the game. it was a great feeling. i didn't feel the sunrays piercing right into my skin for that period. my eyes were on the ball. i didn't think of anything. i only knew that i had to play the shots.
so the extra edge i got was mental strength. one can only train to a certain extent i think. u've gotta combine the mental and physical in order to attain the results.
a final msg to my fren before i go off:
i thank you for the compliment. i also want to say that u've improved alot over the last three mths. at least u're faster now and execute good shots. i have no secret "recipe" as to why i run fast in court. all that i know, i've juz said it. thank you for playin with me.
