wow..ahven't been updating this site. well, my life's a routine for now. christmas is nearing n i hope everyone of here have a merry merry christmas and also, a great yr ahead. not trying to be sarcastic coz i heard that 2003 might be a worser yr. but amidst pessimism, hope can still be found. the recession i hope will be a gd wake up call to all singaporeans. it's for the society on the whole, least we become more complacent and more arrogant.
i read the ST forum this morn. tis guy from the environmental engin fac in our local uni lamented how the work of our parents shd pave way for us to walk on to a brighter future. it's ver worrying and annoying after reading it.
firstly, our parents hard work is to create a better life for their families. secondly, all economies go through a cycle. nothing is stagnant. thirdly, dun expect our parents to pave the way so that it';s easier for us to follow up and perhaps live an even more comfortable n cozy lifestyle.
ironically, the title of this entry was "graduate at ur own peril". maybe it's a sound reminder to this grad. i think these titles are given by the editor.
anyway, i'm so disappointed with this fella coz he's the "classic" grad which our edu has produced and has invited criticisms the last few yrs. like waiting to be fed!
oh my god! he's from aone of the local unis too!!!! there's a pblm. a big pblm. this iwas wat he wrote in his conclusion:
"It was once thought that each generation slogs so its descendants can enjoy the fruits of its labour. Where are those fruits now? As fresh graduates, we found none."
how can he be soooooo naive!!!! how can he simply sit there and wait for those "fruits" to come by????? where's initiative, motivation, and creating ur own oppties?!!!!
it's a disgrace to all the local grads. he's not the only one facing this job crisis.
expectations are too high. so high that we have adopted the mentality that "oh, i'm a grad so feed me with jobs."
anyway, i had better stop here b4 my emotions overwhelm me, thus affecting my thoughts.
sorry if these words ahve made u angry.
