pple!!!! i miss all of u soooooooooooooooooo much. i realized how attached i am to singapore becoz of all of u! i miss home terribly. my landlord and his wife are veyr nice pple.
i unpacked my stuff yesterday. took me two whole hrs to do that. was dead tired when i arrived coz i only slept 2 hrs on the aircraft. i had a wonderful flight down to sydney coz after i got on to the plane, this Sikh guy and this Indian lady walked twds me and i tht they were a couple and i was sitting in between them. so i offered to change seats since i was alone and the Sikh guy said "if u dun mind, my seat's in the business class, and i juz met my fren ourside. we didn't know we're on the same flight." wah! i'll never mind changing seat! so i went over to business class, right in the centre and settled down comfortably. thr out the whole journey, i was playing with the seat, adjusting the leg rest, if not, switching channles on the tv...25 movies (but damn boring. shd have complained) and it's like watching tv at home lor. got my jamie oliver programme too! then there's a personal cd playlist. u juz pick the songs found there and add it in to ur own playlist. shiok man! how to sleep right???
then the breakfast...first the stewardess will put this big napkin on the table and then out the tray on the table. they served me bread, fruits, coffee, water, milk first. after eating the bread, then they asked if i wnted any cereals. no...cannot eat. stomach cramps. sway! then the main course came...three to choose from. i opted for dim. had glutinous rice wrapped in lotus leaf, with two siew mai and prawn dumpling.
i had no appetite but die die also must force it down so i took the ingredients fr the glutinous rice, mushhrooms, chicken meat, chinese sausages (my favourite) and salted egg yolk plus one siew mai. the portion's not very big but it certianly felt like at home.
becoz that Sikh guy changed seats with me, the stewardess asked me for my baording pass and my name's on it. so thr out the flight, they addressing me as Ms Tan. make me sound so old.
altho i was excited, i was really sad. i wept as the plane sped down the runway and even said Bye. kept looking out of the window once the plane started moving.
i miss home. grandma told me thatgrandpa cried several times on the night i left. he must have thought that my grandma's asleep. but i miss them. ic ried too when grandma told me that. it's all in the past when i tageed behind him to sembawang mkt and further down to 14-mile to those kopitiams to eat wanton mee. was so naughty that the shopkeepers there took their canes and chased after me..hahahha.notorious was i in sembawang. hahahhahaa.
anyway, once i arrived, my landlord and his wife (paul n helen) took me to the sydney fish mkt and we had prawns for lunch. they wanted to get some oysters which they did but for themselves coz i dun eat oysters. so i got prawns instead. had prawns again for dinner with pasta. it's ok. i can't eat that much either. still homesick. but paul and hele are very frenly and nice pple. i get along well with them.
i slept for abt 1.5hrs after 2 hrs of unpacking yesterday. chatted abit with paul and helen after dinner, then called home.
today, i went o the back and went to town to get my stuff -uniform plus equipment. helen and paul drove me there. no frens yet coz my clas has not started.tmrw orientation. i am very confused by their bus system. i'm sure i'll lose my way. my class willstart officially on thursday. details will be provided during the orientation.
my grandma told me on the night i left in the car, to return home after the course and work in singapore. u know, i wld love to but tat's juz an easy way out. i hope i can get a job here. i believe that being alone in a fgn country will make a stronger person. it's hard to part. i think my heart's aching now. ouch....
ok, this is a long entry. 2 days' of events being typed out. once again, my home address is:
sydney is three hrs ahead of singapore durng the summer and 2hrs ahead in winter. i dunno if i'll be back by april coz all my winter stuff's in singapore. my term break's in late april as my mum had calculated and it's easter. it's either me flying down or my mum coming over. no specific plans yet.
anyway, i've no time to look ard since i've been preoccupied with my errands. hopefully in the next 2 wks i'llg et to see more of sydney.
