i had another great day today!!!
went to my frens' place to cook. two thais and two singaporeans tried to cook up a storm. our guests? one jap and one korean. manz...the food was once again....FANTASTIC!!! i dun fancy thai food but today, i fell in love with thai salad n the green curry was juz too good to be true n surprisingly i drink tom yam soup!!!! i drank that once yrs ago but didn't like it. lemongrass is sthg which i never liked but today, i found it simply refreshing.
actually my other singapore fren n i did not have to cook coz it wa supposed to be thai cuisine today but dunno why we ended up cooking. i made bbq'd pork. cld ahve been better if i had bought the pork yesterday and marinaded it. we all went to the supermkt at 10.30am and shopped till like 12pm. went back to cook. my singapore fren, Baobao, lives in the same place as this other thai gal, Nuch, juz 6 rooms away from each other. so we took baobao's table over to nuch's place. nuch n jean (the other thai gal) cooked thai food there while baobao and i cooked our stuff in her room. eh, we made garlic bread too! its very very nice. we finish the entire french loaf even before the meal. i took a few pics of the food so u can all see them when i send them back to e scanned and put online. it was like a buffet.
we ate at abt 2.30pm. didn't faint coz we had garlic bread! btw, i made the garlic butter ok. it's very easy lah but dunno why singapore one dun taste this good. my fren even asked me for recipe. my first time doing it. good to work backwards at times. sometimes i think of the flavour and then i work backwards. first for the taste and then the texture. i dun like the garlic to be roughly chopped. it's gotta be like some kinda paste. so i used the method which my grandma taught me back home to use the back of the knife and "chopped" the garlic with salt n pepper. soften the butter in the microwave for abt 15s and then mash everything together. didn't have parsley so threw in spring onions instead. it's heavenly. not difficult at all wat. so go try it out pals! remember to toast ur bread!
i'm so full. didn't ahve my dinner. ate a plate of fruits only. am still thinking if i wanna drag myself out from bed at 7.15am to go for my swim. the competition pool's boked from 9am onwards till 3pm but it'll be in the 25m mode. i hate that.
