my fingers weren't cooked by the tray yesterday. it has recovered.
today, we made viennese biscuits. piping it was really challenging. i'm gonna practise piping shell shapes and rozettes. fun have proper control of the piping bag but later i made it.
the viennese biscuits which we made initially, were not good coz there was sthg wrong with the recipe. so our chef gave us his recipe and they were FANTASTIC. couverture chocolate, made in belgium, was melted so that we cld dip the biscuits in it. the choc is wow....56% cocoa solids. good chocolate. the chef piped really fast. he can finish pipin gon whole tray which is pretty big at one tray in 5mins. they looked as tho they were made by machine.
well, my marble cake was a flop today. the chef said that it was undercooked. i'm 100% sure that thats not the case. i put in the oven for abt an hr. for the cake to be cooked, we need only 45-60mins. in the end, we juz threw the cakes. i was pretty upset coz the cake's not suc/f. i dread working with this other new gal who came over to the work bench that my fren and i occupied. now, my fren and i worked very well. three's a crowd. so can't trace the root of the pblm. this sat, my fren's gonna come down to my place to bake the cake again. we're determined to get it right.
yesterday, we also baked light fruit cake. left it in the kitchen to cool overnight n today we cut it up in class and the chef said that it was perfect. he said that we cld sell it for $45 for it. looks like i'll be heading down to the mkts to rent a stall and sell my products.
finally i found a tennis buddy. this american gal in my class, used to play for her sch i think or she trained to play for her sch. hmm...no difference right. anyway, she loves tennis too so i think from next week onwards, we'll be playing once a week for at least 2 hrs. so happy to hear that!!!! dunno wat made me ask her if she played tennis. no harm asking.

while u guys are working, i'll be sitting in for a 5-hr theory class on food hygiene, and safety. i hope i dun fall asleep.
