was nearly bored to death today. went for my 4.5 hr theory class this morning. all abt food hygiene and safety at work. my god, we watched videos on dirty kitchens. was very disgusted by it. those are real kitchens. some were closed downa fter these videos were sent in to the authorities.
i learnt from my fren that in her class, when the chef did theory and demo, they cld sit down. well, i had to stand lor. standing there taking notes is not a joke. dun mind if i can move ard but this will put a strain on my feet and i'm afraid that my old injury might relapse again. i wanna avoid that.
anyway, went to myf ren's place to relax then went to KFC for dinner. me never a fan of fast food but it's the first time for me eating fast food here and with myf rens some more. it was fun! i enjoy cooking on my own at home. last night i cooked beef soup and fried bok choy with ikan bilis. i tell ya, i was so satisfied. i'm glad i love cooking. oh, dun be envious of me ok.
i am very disappointed in le cordon bleu over their poor admin. u know as a culinary institute, they shd be prepared that their students will be keen in taking part-time jobs. well here in aust, international students must get a tax file number to be exempted from tax. must fill in a form and submit to the txation office (i think). stupid system! i think in those universities, they have a small section that handles this kinda stuff but here, i've to fill in two forms then go back to cordon bleu to get them to do some documentation and then personally head down to the taxation office! wat is this nonsense?????
as a hospitality college, this cannot be tolerated at all. right now i am attending classes like 24 hrs a week. waiting for buses here make u wonder if they're all on strike. and it's freaking expensive to travel by bus.
next thing i'm juz baffled abt is that i dun get concession rate for transport coz i'm not a PR nor a citizen!!! hello!!!! i'm a full time international student! this is ridiculous!
why give me a student card when i can't be granted concession rates for transport???? i think my class pple might juz charge in to the admin next week and demand a logical explanation on this issue.
at this rate i'm travelling, one week, say three days i go to sch, to n fro will cost me $3. that's like only a 12-15min ride. i am gonna get a bicycle! if i spend $100 for a bike, then within one term, it'll juz cancel out my bus rides to sch.cbut going to he city i've to go by bus. that's not a pblm. well, it's no choice lah.
tmrw i cna wake up late. i think i'll get a gd nite's rest for sure. by the way, i walked to sch this morning from home. took me one hr. not trying to cut cost. wanted to wake myself up and it's healthy too.
