went to the market this morning with helen and the stuff there were cheap. basically if u need any kinda vege or fruit, u can get it there. this is not in town. it's like a huge warehouse that's after the olympic park. it's not as smelly as the wet mkts in singapore. i like it.
helen is similar to my grandma. when she sees nice and fresh looking stuff, she'll buy them and the end result? her fridge is packed. she said that she's gd today. didn't buy alot coz i was there to remind her that she's got lotsa stuff in the fridge. hahhahaha. paul is pleased with that.
people, learn how to cook. when u're alone in a fgn country and u can cook home-cooked dishes, man, it really feels like home. i had fried rice this afternoon. did a great job with it. then after that, helen n i cleaned up the fridge. didn't go out today coz i went out yesterday. that's gd coz that means i dun go out and spend unneccessary money. i really dread shopping. after that, ironed some of my clothes and went for a jog. gotta keep myself fit and healthy. still hven't gone for my swim yet. i've to get a bicycle. with all the slopes and hills, it'll be challenging to cycle on.
oh, the highlight of today has to be dinner! i cooke dprawns noodles. wah...shiok man! my first attempt and it's sooooo good. helen said that its restaurant standard. she tried alittle of the soup and she liked it. told her that on the day when she doesn't ahve to go on diet, juz lemme know and i'll cook that.
this is a dish which i'll cook for my family if i return home. i still think that i'm better in cuisine than baking. well, basically i am greedy lah. i want both!!!! hahhahaa.
while i learn cakes and pastries in LCB, i can still experiment in the kitchen at home here. think i am getting more creative each day. helen and paul provide brillaint suggestions too!
u want the recipe for my prawn noodles? hhahhaa...no no no.....i think i'm gonna check out the cost of having a stall in those weekend mkts and start selling prawns noodles there esp'ly during autumn and winter. cna even sell nasi lemak. chilli here isn't too expensive so we've got quite abit at home and the small ones are drying up. i'm gonna make sambal with it. this is life!!!!!
i think i can cook till i drop dead. learn to cook!!!!! it's juz amazing wat u can come up with!!!!
