had another hectic day today. was supposed to be free but as usual something crops up. wanted to go for my swim but cldn't swake up in time to do that. then wanted to go for a jog. was abt to elave the house when auntie margaret called me n asked me if i cld go down to her house to teach her mother how to make choux pastry. so i walked to sch to pick up my tools n then her mother cam eto pick me up. the choux pastry was a success. no baking powder. clean the trays n then grease it very very lightly.
my right arm's a bit numb now coz i made everything by hand incldg mixing the eggs into the choux. had to whip up the cream by hand too. nevertheless, it was good training for me. i think i pipe better now. takes awhile to get used to it.
after that granny fried carrrot cake for me!!! it was alittle soft but who cares! felt like i was in singapore. talking abt singapore, i juz heard over power 98 that another few more pple have been found to have SARS, bringing the number to 86.
ok i returned home at 4.30pm n then walked to myf ren's place for dinner. she cooked blue cod fillet in a sweet dark sauce. nice. i dun eat fish but i enjoyed that dish. had fried chicken too, with compliments from laurel. :)
i'm tired now coz i slept only 5 hrs last nite. tmrw i'll make dumplings for sunday where i've 8 guests coming over to eat. think i shd ahve enuff food to feed an army. gotta mke bread n butter pudding for myf rens. i dun think that recipe's nice coz it uses milk but i know many recipes call for the use of cream instead. but my frens wanna try evne tho i told them. said that it's better to ahve milk than cream. hahhaha. i enver knew that they were concerned with that.
auntie margaret told me that they're all hoping that i'll be a famous chef. hahhaha. yes, i'm dreaming of that too. doesn't hurt to dream.
