business was slow today but good for ifel and i to work. made the same stuff in the morning -pies n quiches. dun udnerstand why pple here love to eat these. i was thinking maybe i shd sell these quiche in singapore to nus students. no time to eat right? i'll make it fast n yummy for all of them. that was just a thought. i've got nothing to set up a home business.
in the afternoon, we made lemon tarts. i had a fun time spreading the lemon curd onto the tart and spreading the glaze. my nitemare came when i ahd to make my own 'piping bag" out of silicon paper and filling it with choc and drizzle over the tarts. i had a hard time doing that. not used to it at all. i dunno why after awhile, the choc does not come out from the bag! damn! nevertheless, i yearn to do more of that coz that's my weakness n i must improve! i'll ask ifel to let me do more of that. he kpet telling me, "it's not a pblm. dun worry." LAUREL NEVER SAY DIE.
i came home and found a postcard plus a letter from my shunfu brudder and mayann. so nice of them to send me a handwriitten letter. then Nuch sent me an email finally!!! one mth after she left this place her first email came. well, we've been smsing each other once a while. still.....
you know, my sense of smell is bad but my tongue works very well. i realize that i can spot out the flavours pretty fast. today ifel asked me to eat the choc mousse cake and the moment i took my first bite, i told him "hmmm..there's grand marnier." i was right. think this is crucial. i'm gonna ask ifel to teach me how to make bread. it's simple it seems. if i've a chance, i'll sell it in singapore.
ok take care! i've got class tmrw. making linzer torte (austrian pastry) and another flan. my god...i'm so sick of flan. but i'll make one if i return to singapore for all of u to try. the custard is deadly.
