Had another great day! supposed to work for only about four hours but ended up working double that time. there were a few orders for parties I guess plus the weekend’s just round the corner and business is better so I was asked to stay longer to work. I don’t mind. In fact those extra hours I put in was definitely worth the while. I got to make croissants, shaping them to near perfection. My boss and his wife (Yasmina) were very impressed. Yasmina asked me how long I’ve been studying patisserie and I said I just start in February this year. She was surprised cause the way I shaped the croissants so nicely that she thought I must have been doing this for quite awhile. So flattering!
Made quiche, chocolate croissants, ‘snails’, short bread, the filling for the quiche, beef pie, pie bases…that was quite abit! But I enjoyed it thoroughly. I feel really comfortable at work. I don’t feel like I’m a staff there. I’m treated like a customer just that I’m paid to eat their products and drink their coffee. Hahahha. U all must be so envious of me now.
Tomorrow I’ll be working for another 4 hours cause the boss wants me to learn to make good bread. He uses little yeast for his bread. Here, the bakeries try to not put any preservatives in their bread. That is good. Bread tastes different. When you use yeast, you must put sugar so that the yeast will be activated.
