today's lesson was sooooooo boring. MARZIPAN.
marzipan's like almond paste but has a higher pecentage of ground almonds in it. anyway, this is the kinda stuff we use in wedding cakes.
it's like playing with plasticine. just chape the marzipan into little balls of even sizes then shape them into different kinda fruits. use a pait brush n brush it with food colouring n that's it! made 50 of them. bananas, pears, apples, peaches, apircots, strawberries,mangoes,orange, mandarins n one more...wat is it...ah...lemon...
the whole thing took us abt 4 hrs to finish!!!! can u believe it???? amazing. it's time consuming to shape 50 of them but it's worse when it came to colouring them. we've to try to get them to look like the real thing.
i was pleased with my products. the colours were good n they were of the same size. moreover, i finished first for the first time!!!! dunno why i was fast. but i think i coloured really quickly. was bored lah so wanted to finish it asap.
this whole week we're working with marzipan. tmrw we'll make roses....my god... then onw ed, we'll make animals....i'm quite sure watever animal i wanna make will not look like the real thing. not even similar to it. hahahhaa.
