went to the bank to collect my wallet n they told me that the person who received it was not working today. said that she works on tuesdays to fridays. well, iw as there last tue but she wasn't there! screwed up!!! i was kinda pissed coz i've no time to rush down to the bank esp'ly after sch. they close at 4pm n by the time i reach the bank, it's just in time for me to turn over their 'open' sign to "close'. second time to get my wallet back.
today we made savarin n crepe suzette. well crepes u all know wat that is just that the sauce is orange juice, butter n grand marnier. a traditional sauce.
savarin is made out of a dough that's similar to that of a brioche but not that many eggs n butter. we had to knead that dough by hand. i wa spleased with the result. well developed gluten. very happy with it. anyway, this dough was fitted into a mould n baked. so it actually looks like a doughnut minus the sugar. in the "hole" we fill it up with fruits n two layers of fresh cream. then on the "ring", we pipe spots of cream n decorate with fruits. oh, forgot to mention that the "doughnut" was soaked in sugar syrup n drizzled with rum. we also put apricot jam to give a glossy finish. it's nice but too sweet i think. the "doughnut" was good on its own.
still thinking of ways n means to extend my visa here. somebody help me!!!
