did i tell ya all that i cooked a five course dinner on my own for christmas? it was a family affair. for the first time since i left for sydney, i was able to celebrate christmas with my family.

my first course consisted of appetizers: mushroom vol-au-vents and mango/lychee with lime juice n zest n a dash of chilli flakes served on lettuce.

second course: a tomato based vege soup. used abt 2.5kg of fresh tomatoes to fix this. very appetising. finished it off with balsamic vinegar.....oooooooolala

third course: roasted turkey. its abt 5kg. roasted overnight at 80 degrees for abt ten hrs. n for the last 40mins, i placed slices of streaky bacon over the turkey. stuffed it with mashed potatoes, rosemary n breadcrumbs. my god...such moist n tender turkey... thanks to my pal, petrine for guiding me. my first attempt....i declared it a success.

fourth course: grilled king prawns. very simple. just marinate with salt, pepper, lemon juice, sesame oil. wella!!!

n last but not least....my DOWN UNDER TRIFLE. wat's a trifle???? haha..it's this dessert fixed in a cup or a huge bowl. it can consist of custard, jelly, sponge, fruits....basically anything uw anna put in. so i fixed jelly, the instant one la then i put the custard followed bysponge that's been soaked in grand marnier n freshly squeezed orange juice, topeed with canned peaches n finally whipped cream. to decor...i stuck one kit kat n threw in some biscuit crumbs. lovely!

oh, i made my own bread too!!! so cheap tp make bread.
